Need plane tickets for your trip? Keep in mind that fare prices may vary depending on where and when you purchase. We recommend that you do a bit of comparison shopping before you buy. Research takes time but always pays off. When you search for the best price, you may realize that good fares disappear fast. So, if you think it's a good price, you might want to book it right away.

When you are shopping around on the Internet, there are basically three categories of websites you might want to check out.

1. Airlines: Check here if you want to book directly from airlines. Many airlines offer web fares available only in their websites.
Airtran Airways
Alaska Airlines
American Airlines
Continental Airlines
Delta Air Lines
Frontier Airlines

2. Online Travel Booking Agencies: Check here if you want to search multiple airlines and book from agency websites. Especially useful when you need hotels and cars in addition to a flight.
Cheaptickets.com
Expedia
Hotwire
Orbitz
Priceline
Travelocity

3. Flight Fare Aggregators: Similar to online booking agencies, aggregators search through multiple airlines. However, aggregators do not book the flights themselves. Once you select your flight, you'll be redirected to that particular airline website for booking.

Farechase
Fly.com
ITA Software's Fare Shopping Engine
